Scoring under EMAA Tournament and Pro League Series
How Points are Awarded
8.0 Forgets the form and completes the form on second attempt. Disqualification if form cannot be completed correctly.
8.1 – 8.4 (poor form) Hesitation, disorientation loss of balance, weak movements and flaws in the form of movements.
8.5 – 8.7 (average form) Weakness in some moves, breaks in concentration, slight loss of balance.
8.8 – 8.9 (above average form) Strong form but lacking in smoothness and/or continuity.
9.0 – 9.4 (good form) Overall good performance with slight flaws in balance, kicking, punching, blocking, speed, power and timing.
9.5 – 9.9 (excellent form) Demonstration of superior movement and balance. Extreme level of difficulty taken into consideration. Exceptional power, speed, focus, balance, smoothness and continuity demonstrated.
How EMAA Rankings are Determined
A Point System will Determine Rankings for Each Division
40 points... 1st place winner of each division
30 points... 2nd place winner of each division
20 points... 3rd place winner of each division
10 points...any competitor who completed their form and received a score below 3rd place
Zero points... disqualified competitors
EMAA Tournament & Pro League Series
EMAA Tournament Series
Open to all amateur competitors from any style. This series will be open hand/fist and weapons forms judged by a panel of black belts. Division winners can become EMAA Pro's by winning a Pro-Qualifying Show.
EMAA Pro League Series
Open to all EMAA Pro's who have won an EMAA Pro-Qualifying event. Pro competitors will be judged by a panel of black belts in open hand/fist and weapons forms competition. Winners will receive cash prizes based upon the number of competitors. Pro divisions are age 15 and up.
